Ronald Eugene Day, affectionately known as Ronnie, was born on June 9, 1947, and passed away on November 27, 2025. He will be dearly remembered for his warm heart, generous spirit, and the joy he brought to everyone around him. Ronnie was a man whose quick wit and humor could light up any room, leaving a trail of laughter in his wake. He possessed a unique ability to connect with others, never meeting a stranger; every person he encountered became like family to him.
Throughout his life, Ronnie embodied kindness and compassion, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. His genuine love for the people around him was evident in every conversation and gesture, creating unforgettable moments that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His presence will be profoundly missed by family and friends alike.
Ronnie found joy in simple pleasures, whether it was fishing, working on small motors, or sharing breakfast with friends at McDonald’s. He cherished attending the sporting events of his children and grandchildren, taking pride in their accomplishments and celebrating their passions.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sue Day, who stood beside him through life’s journey. Ronnie leaves behind a legacy of love through his children: Ronnie Day Jr. (Linda), Misty Day (TJ), Mike Day (Cindi), Jacki Dopp (Elvis), and John Day (Larhea). His many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews, will continue to carry forward his spirit of kindness and joy.
Ronnie is also remembered fondly by his siblings: Linda Savage, Peggy Duncan, Donna Welch (Noah), and Gary Day (Betty Sue). He is reunited in peace with his parents, Willie and Myrtle Day, along with his siblings Sandy Sullivan and Wanda Day, who preceded him in death.
A celebration of Ronnie’s life will be held at East Sunnyview Baptist, located at 6802 Cahaba Lane, Knoxville, TN 37914, on December 11, 2025, from 5 PM to 7 PM. As we gather to honor this remarkable man, we invite all who were touched by his kindness and spirit to join together in remembrance of a life well-lived and a heart that will forever remain in our memories.
