Michael Allen Stepp: A Heartfelt Farewell

Michael Allen Stepp, left us peacefully on the morning of October 23rd, 2025, after painful battle with bladder cancer. Born on September 2nd, 1963, Mike was 62 years old—a life filled with hard work, adventure, and deep loyalty for those he considered friends.

For approximately 25 years, Mike worked as a roofer near Selinsgrove, PA, becoming a master at his craft. He found joy in the simple pleasures—fishing by quiet streams, searching for hidden treasures with his metal detector, hiking through the forest, and soaking in the beauty of the outdoors. Nature was his sanctuary, and it was where he felt most alive.

Mike loved to create. His work shed overflowed with every imaginable tool and he would transform scraps into ingenious projects, always finding new ways to solve problems. Yet life was not without hardship, eventually compelling him to start over with little more than his determination and resourcefulness.

A pivotal moment came when Mike visited his brother Robert in Tennessee. The state’s rolling hills, lush landscapes, and warmer climate captured his heart. Inspired by the opportunity of a new beginning, Mike relocated to Tennessee, embracing the change with enthusiasm. The last two years of his life were filled with new experiences, friendships, and happiness. He often remarked that these were the best years of his life, and his smile proved it.

Mike became a man of few words, but his quiet observation made him a great storyteller when he chose to share. His generosity knew no bounds—he was always ready to lend a hand, offer advice, or support anyone in need. Friends and family admired his unmatched work ethic and steadfast loyalty.

He is predeceased by his mother Lena Mae Stepp (Arthur) and his father Rolland Eugene Stepp. He is survived by his immediate family: brothers, Russell E Stepp (Terry), Robert E Stepp (Keren), and his son, Michael A Stepp II.

We have lost a brother, a father, and a true friend. Until we meet again, Mike. You are deeply loved, endlessly appreciated, and you will always have a home in our hearts. May your spirit visit us often.

Cards and memorial donations can be sent, care of Robert Stepp, 7416 Homestead Dr, Knoxville TN 37918.
