It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lee Ann Hopper, a cherished daughter, loving mother, grandmother, and beloved sister. Lee Ann was born on December 19, 1974, at Henderson Clinic, and she departed from this world on October 16, 2025, at the UT Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. Her journey through life was marked by her unwavering kindness, compassion, and dedication to her family and the many lives she touched during her career in healthcare as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
Lee Ann's career was a testament to her character. She spent many years caring for the elderly in various nursing homes, offering not just her skills but an abundance of love and compassion. She dedicated her life to ensuring that those in her care felt seen, heard, and valued. Her gentle touch and warm smile will be missed by countless patients and their families who experienced her extraordinary devotion.
A proud graduate of Scott’s Hill High School, where she earned her diploma in 1992, Lee Ann always carried a sense of pride in her education and used her knowledge and skills to enrich the lives of others. She was known for being kind and welcoming, embodying the very essence of empathy. Her family often described her as deeply loving and family-oriented, qualities that were evident in her dedication to those she held dear.
Family was everything to Lee Ann. She treasured every moment spent with her daughters, Chancy Battaglia (Wes Battaglia) and Skylar Gray (Dylan Gates), and her grandchildren, Alivia, Luca, and Gemma Battaglia and Renlen Gates. She often enjoyed keeping up with her family and sharing her life through her wonderful drawings and journal writings, creating a legacy of memories for her family to hold onto.
Grief accompanies her passing, especially for her sisters, Rhonda Rowland (Freddie Rowland) and Kim Page (Johnny Page), as well as her brothers, Charles “Curtis” Hopper (Kim Hopper) and Chuck Scott (Dee Scott). Lee Ann had a special bond with each of her siblings and their extended families, including her nephews, Randall Rowland (Samantha Rowland) and Charlie Page; nieces, Erica Wilson (Christopher Wilson), Brittany Reeves (Cody Reeves), April Riffle (Gary Riffle), Misty Cruse (Dustin Cruse), Jennifer Sisk (Billy Sisk), and Selena Page; and a multitude of great-nieces and great-nephews who loved her deeply. They will carry her spirit in their hearts as they remember her compassionate nature and the warmth she brought to every family gathering.
She is now reunited in spirit with her beloved parents, Charles Ray Hopper and Lena Mae Hopper, whose memories she cherished dearly, as well as her grandson CJ Gates. Their memories will forever reside in the hearts of those who loved and knew her.
Lee Ann's unexpected departure has left a void that cannot be filled, and while the hearts of her family are broken, they find solace in the legacy of love she leaves behind. A legacy filled with kindness, warmth, and endless compassion, reminding us all of the impact one individual can have on the lives of so many. Lee Ann Hopper will be remembered fondly for her nurturing spirit and the lasting imprint she has made on her family and friends. May she rest in peace.
