Kenneth Boyd

Kenneth Donald Boyd, Jr. (KD) was born on September 3, 1943 in Dallas, TX and passed away peacefully on November 28, 2024 in Knoxville, TN at the age of 81. 

KD was the oldest of two children, born to KD Boyd Sr. and Audie Red Boyd. He was a dedicated employee to Caterpillar for over 40 years, and was the president of the UAW in Dallas, TX for many years. He then went on to start his own successful courier business that he was very proud of. He lived out his last four years in Oak Ridge, TN after leaving Texas, of many years. Kd was an avid fan of college football and loved the LSU Tigers. He had a passion and knowledge for plants and flowers which inspired him to offer neighborly gardening advice. 

He is preceded in death by his father and mother. Survived by his spouse of 40 years, Linda Marlene Boyd of Oak Ridge, TN, sister Ruth Culver (Harold) of Bedford, TX, son Keith Boyd of Oak Ridge, TN, step daughters Mardel Martin (Richard) and Charlotte Goff (Kevin) of Oak Ridge, TN, 4 step grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of friends. 

KD will be remembered for his gentle nature and unwavering loyalty. His presence will be profoundly missed but fondly cherished by all who were fortunate to know him.
