Maryville

Jeffery Strickland of Maryville, TN passed away after discovering he had cancer a month earlier. In the weeks, days, and even seconds before his death, he was surrounded by those who loved him dearly. As he said himself, Jesus also never left his side. From his jokes to his many stories, Jeff loved making others laugh. He enjoyed listening to classic rock, fishing, a good smoke, woodworking, the open road, gardening, and spending time in nature. He was an animal lover and rescued many pets of various species. He is survived by his dog, Gypsy “Wild Child”. Jeff had many rich, meaningful friendships, including with Mark Graham. He also remained very close to his brother, Ron Strickland, throughout his life. Jeff was proceeded in death by his wife, Theresa “Terri” Strickland, who was the love of his life and who he missed until his final day. He selflessly became a loving, devoted father to her two sons from the time he entered their young lives. In his final years, his granddaughter, Emerson, was his pride and joy. Jeff was proceeded in death by his father, Raymond Strickland. Jeff became a dedicated caretaker to his mother, Dorothy Strickland, in his final years. He is also survived by his siblings, Judy (Jimmy) McClure, Ronald (Judith) Strickland, and Nancy Boring; his two sons, Adam (Candice) Clarke and Derrick (Claire) Clarke; and nephews and nieces, including Johanna Rainer. In line with his wishes, his ashes, along with Terri’s ashes, will be spread across the land he loved so much.
