Jarvis "Harry" Chambers, a beloved figure whose warmth and presence touched the hearts of many, passed away on July 21, 2025, in Knoxville, TN. Born on November 11, 1974, in Spartanburg, SC, Jarvis lived a life that echoed his profound love for family and friends.
At the heart of Jarvis's life was his passion for cooking, with his infamous Curry Chicken and Rice dish becoming a staple at family gatherings. His culinary ambitions fostered a dream of one day opening his own restaurant, a testament to his creativity and dedication to sharing joy through food.
Known for his generous heart and unwavering dedication, Jarvis embodied the very best of humanity. His legacy is reflected in the many lives he enriched with kindness and the community he served. Friends and family will forever remember him for the laughter and memories created while dancing, sharing drinks, and enjoying fun-filled nights. Those moments stand as a celebration of the joyful spirit Jarvis brought into their lives.
He is survived by his loving mother, Deborah Halyard, and father, Jimmy Woodruff. His siblings, Cassaundra Chambers, Yalena Talley, and Derek Chambers. Jarvis was a proud father to his children, Javon Chambers, Jaharrius Chambers, and Jarviona Chambers, and held close the love he had for his bonus children, Chazzity Whaley and Shawnique Whaley. As a grandfather, he leaves behind four granddaughters and two grandsons who will carry forward his legacy of love.
Jarvis will be dearly missed not only by his loving family but also by those who had the privilege of knowing him. He was preceded in death by his youngest son, Jamarion Chambers, along with his bonus son Chaztus D. Whaley, and his paternal grandmother, Callie B. Woodruff, and maternal grandparents Lena Grace Tinsley-Chambers and James Lee Chambers, as well as many aunts and uncles who contributed to the fabric of his life.
Though our hearts ache with this unexpected loss, we find comfort in the countless memories of Jarvis's warmth, laughter, and the profound impact he made in our world. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those he loved, reminding us all of the beauty of generosity and the power of a loving family.
Service for Jarvis Chambers will be Sunday, July 27, 2025, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Foothills Funeral Home, 910 Lincoln Rd, Maryville, Tennessee 37804.
