David Wayne Carroll

David’s career spanned several decades, during which he worked in maintenance within the photo industries and later served as a technician for CES. An avid outdoorsman, David found great joy in hiking various trails and exploring historic sites, often sharing these adventures with those close to him. His enthusiasm extended into his love for technology and communication, especially through his work with Ham Radio. As an expert licensed Ham Radio operator, David volunteered his skills during two different hurricanes to provide critical communications support and worked tirelessly at marathon events to ensure seamless communication. These endeavors reflected his profound commitment to helping others and embracing challenges with a generous spirit and great sense of humor.

David's interests were wide-ranging: he delighted in talking on the air with fellow Ham Radio enthusiasts, working on computers, hiking, and watching NASCAR. These hobbies not only enriched his life but also fostered strong connections with friends and family, who cherished his lively personality.

He was a deeply caring individual, known for his willingness to assist others and tackle challenges head-on while always maintaining a joyful and humorous outlook. His warmth and support left an indelible impression on everyone he encountered.

David is survived by his beloved wife, Sonya Carroll; his brother, Douglas Carroll; two step daughters Brittanie Caswell and Brendi Caswell Fowler; six grandchildren: William Carroll, Ryan Carroll, Laura Carroll, Bradley Carroll, Jennifer Carroll, and Kaylee Carroll; and four step-grandchildren: Emmalin Brown, Jace Fowler, Mason Fowler, and Jensen Fowler.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lola Carroll; father, Hollis Wayne Carroll; sister, Debrah Carroll; son, William Douglas Carroll; and daughter, Crystal Ann Carroll. Though these losses marked significant sorrow in his life, David remained a pillar of strength and compassion.

The memory of David Wayne Carroll will forever be cherished by those who knew him. His contributions as a devoted family man, skilled technician, enthusiastic hobbyist, and generous volunteer resonate deeply.
